Rare diseases may be individually rare, but the community living these journeys is anything but small.
There are more than 7,000 known rare diseases, and nearly 1 in 10 Americans lives with one. Yet most of these conditions still have no known cure, leaving families searching for answers, support, and connection.
For many caregivers and parents, the road can feel isolating — filled with medical appointments, unanswered questions, and paths that look very different from what they once imagined.
Rad + Rare was created to help change that.
This brand exists to bring people together — to build community for families and caregivers navigating extraordinary journeys, and to raise awareness for the strength, resilience, and beauty within the rare disease community.
Because while rare diagnoses may be uncommon, the people living these journeys are everywhere. And no one should have to navigate rare alone.
The Inspiration
Rad+Rare was inspired by my journey with two sons who were born with rare conditions.
Through our experience, I discovered something powerful — the rare community is filled with extraordinary families navigating extraordinary challenges with courage, humor, and resilience.
Rad + Rare was created to celebrate those stories and build a community where people living with or loving people who have rare diseases and disabilities feel seen, supported, and understood.
